The Serpent's Egg

The Serpent's Egg is a 1977 American-West German co-produced film directed by Ingmar Bergman. This was Bergman's one and only Hollywood film. Some critics say this was not one of Ingmar Bergman best films. I enjoyed this movie. The story is set in 1920s Berlin and features English and German dialogue. It starts out with two brothers that worked for the circus. One hurts his hand and they can no longer do their act. The brother with the hurt hand blows his head off.  When Abel had to tell his ex-sister in law that his brother has passed they become close and rely on each other for support. They find work through Abel childhood friend which later we come to find out is a mad scientist. Compared to "Cries and Whispers" and The Hour of the Wolf this was the better watch for me.
