I understand that the consensus was that this movie was better than the "Magnificent Seven" but I have to respectfully disagree. I understand it was the original that the latter was based on, but I guess I'm too westernized in my tastes. Although there was a lot of action, it all looked more like a bunch of kids running around and slipping in the mud rather than the finally polished western where every shot is true and throwing a knife is faster than a speeding bullet.
Still an interesting movie, but I have to vote for the glitz and glamour of the American remake.
By the way, it could be a fine film for gun control supporters. Three muskets in the film and getting one of them was a prize. Then again, riding back and forth on horseback through a crowd slashing people with a sword seemed to do the trick.
