Pan's Labyrinth

Ivana Baquero as Ofelia in Pan's Labyrinth (2006) (2006)

I was living in New York when this movie first came out and I have to drive an hour away to Syracuse to catch a showing. I was one of three people in the theater. I was a fan from the beginning and have always been impressed with the story and how it was executed. The ending, while sad, made me cheer inside because the twist is the blood of an innocent was indeed spilled to guarantee Ofelia's way into her father's kingdom.

  1. Dani, I too liked the movie. I watched it twice now and realize now that the imaginary story in the movie was not imaginary at all. It was as the professor said meant to be true. I can see now how the two stories are combined. This director is good and the movie was great to watch, this even with the captain and terror he delivered to the locals. I guess war always involve a crazy carachter or war is not to be...

  2. I enjoyed this movie as well, and rented it over Thanksgiving to watch again. It surely did not seem like a movie that I would have chosen to watch had it not been for class.

  3. I am very surprised to hear when the movie first came out there was only a handful of people at the theater. I know that the movie has won several awards I wonder if it took some time for the movie to become popular or if no one happened to be at the theater that particular night.
